Software Engineer, Digital Learning Specialist, and Computing Education Leader

Denis Muthuyia is a software engineer, digital learning specialist, and computing education leader. With experience across government, education, private and the social impact sector, Denis leads initiatives focused on computing education, AI literacy, and digital inclusion for young people, particularly girls and underserved communities.

He began his career through Kenya’s Presidential DigiTalent Programme and later served as a Software and Web Developer at the ICT Authority, where he led the development of digital platforms that improved access to public services. Denis also worked as a Fullstack Engineer at the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. Currently serving as Digital Learning and Innovation lead at Empower and Serve Kenya and Women’s WorldWide Web (W4.org).

Denis holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Kisii University and a Certificate in Sustainability Leadership from United People Global. His professional credentials include certifications as an AWS Cloud Practitioner, Cyber Shujaa Security Analyst, and qualifications in PRINCE2 Project
Management, Agile methodologies, and Data Science. Combining technical expertise with a passion for equitable education, Denis continues to champion innovative digital learning solutions that empower communities and accelerate inclusive growth across Africa.
