Mercy Makena is a Information Technology student at Karatina University and aims to specialize in cybersecurity. Having graduated from the intensive Cyber Shujaa program as a certified Security analyst and also  continuously learning , she has gained various skills and hands on experiences from cybersecurity labs, CTF’s and job simulations. She is also a graduate of Africa Agility as a backend developer and also a Cohort 4 Dada Stem mentee.

In addition to her passion in Tech, Mercy has been driven by a passion for leadership. As the current Lead Women In Tech – Karatina University chapter she believes that leadership is not all about the position and it’s roles, rather it’s about empowering others and mentoring others and leading them to their growth.

Looking ahead, Mercy aims to build a career that blends technology and leadership and positively impacts the world leveraging on her skills.
