Phoebe Jelagat is a graduate civil engineer from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, with a
passion for structural design and sustainable construction. She currently works as a graduate civil
and structural engineer on housing development projects, where she supports structural design
and on-site quality oversight. Outside of work, she is an avid reader and enthusiast of African
literature, drawn to the rich storytelling and diverse voices that capture the continent’s history,
culture and lived experiences. She is committed to growing as a structural engineer while
encouraging more young women to pursue careers in STEM, and is proud to be part of the Dada
STEM community as she continues that journey.
